1989 Massecre at Tiananmen Square
Tiananmen Square, a
public square in country of China. Located in the city of Beijing. Some people think
the square is the biggest public square in China. Tiananmen Square
is mainly known for the massacre that occurred with a group of young adults. A group of
protestors went against the Chinese government. The event took place in the year
1989. Chinese government went to the square and shot unarmed
civilians. The Chinese government wanted to stop the protesting. They chose to do this by shooting people in random bursts.
The action that took place in 1989 was tragic. Innocent people killed by Chinese police officers. They
were not old people or unemployed men. They were young students who
wanted a better democracy for China. Kids that died for a
cause that was not intended to cause harm or violence. The kids did not deserve to
die that day.
About a million Chinese students died. No one expected the event
to take place. There were some people that got away, and there was some that became injured from bullets.
The
troops stormed in and fired randomly. They shot, reloaded, and shot
again. The shots were not structured. They aimed at
the crowd and just pulled it. They kept shooting for more then a few
minutes. Even
when the people looked like they were leaving the premises, the police
officers would keep shooting. They got tired of the protest. They
should of sprayed water on the citizens, but they wanted blood or maybe
they wanted to make strong conviction. The government did not have to
shoot
people. The people only wanted a fair
democracy.
The
square has always been an important area for travel. Cars and people
would use the square each day to travel across Beijing, China. The
square is in the center of Beijing. Japanese troops once
occupied the area back in World War II. The Japanese troops manage to
kill 20 million Chinese citizens
while stationed at the square. The Japanese did not kill the people in
1989. That event was caused by China. However, it is safe to assume that
the Tiananmen Square is bad luck. People always seem to get massacred
there. People who visit the area should not spend more then a few
minutes on its steps.
